Dacey reservoir May 25th, 2021

about the site:

75 Miles south of Ely (80 minutes),  Dacey Reservoir is located on the Kirch Wildlife Management Area (formerly Sunnyside).  The reservoir was constructed primarily as a water storage area for regulating Dacey Marsh downstream. It is a wonderful area for camping and fishing (rainbow trout and largemouth bass). According to www.LightPollutionMap.info, this is a Bortle Class 1 location, meaning the sky is as free of light pollution as you can possibly get!
From Las Vegas, take Highway 93 north for 2 hours and turn left at Crystal Springs (as if you're heading towards the Extraterrestrial Highway - but you're not).  Then take the fork to the right and continue up Highway 318 for another 62 miles.  The Wildlife Management Area is well marked on the left, but has primitive roads.
